Luca Seccafieno

Luca Seccafieno is a trumpet teacher in the Conservatory of Potenza, awarded after winning a public competition.

Seccafieno has been invited to present masterclasses at leading institutions including the Conservatories of Venice, Padua, Riva del Garda, Trento, L’Aquila, Cagliari, Bari, Benevento, Avellino, Alessandria, and at the University of Burgos in Spain and Royal College of Music in Stockholm. As a performer, he has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, among them the Parco della Musica in Rome, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Sydney Opera House, the CBSO Centre in Birmingham, St. John’s Smith Square in London, the Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthalle Freiburg, Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Musikhalle Hamburg, the Konzerthalle Klagenfurt, the Thai Cultural Center in Bangkok, and the Rome Opera House.

He has recorded extensively for Sony and Universal, and has contributed to numerous film productions. Notably, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Luciano Berio’s passing, he was invited to perform Sequenza X live on RAI at the Cappella Paolina of the Quirinale.

Luca Seccafieno has published several trumpet methods with Albatros and Raitrade Publishing, widely distributed across Europe, The United States, Asia, and Australia. The latest is his new treatise for trumpet, “Harry James – l’Articolazione,” a combination of his academic studies with his degree in Jazz.
