Greg Garcia

Greg Garcia is a versatile freelance musician and dedicated educator based in the Midwest. He studied music at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and maintains a prolific performance and recording schedule across multiple genres, ranging from Latin Jazz to Broadway.

He has performed with Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Clyde Stubblefield, Noel Gallagher, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Henry Winkler, Il Divo, La Sonora Ponceña, Andy Montanez, Charlie Aponte, Ray De La Paz, Tony Vega, and many more. Greg is currently a member of De La Buena (Latin Jazz) and Orquesta Ayala (Salsa) and holds the lead trumpet chair for both the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra and the Milwaukee Jazz Institute Big Bands.

Greg has performed with National Broadway tours at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, Overture Center, and Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. He performs with both the Skylight Musical Theater and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and has been a featured soloist with several local youth orchestras and bands. Greg’s studio experience includes recording commercial jingles, jazz demos for Hal Leonard, and various album projects. He has also composed and performed music for television and radio advertisements.

Since 2022, Greg has been a full-time brass instructor for Milwaukee Public Schools. His teaching career began in 1996 and he has worked with students of all levels, led various band camps, and served as a frequent guest clinician. Greg is also the author of the book How To Play Trumpet In 14 Days, published by Troy Nelson Music.
