Tamir Akta



Tamir Akta is a graduate of the Talma Yelin school of arts, a recipient of the America Israel cultural Foundation scholarship 1987-1995, and winner of the 1991 Interlaken Classics Competition. He was also principal trumpet and soloist with the young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.Tamir completed his academic training in the Paris Conservatory, in the trumpet class of the master Guy Touvron – one of the world’s greatest trumpet players and an especially sensitive musician. His extended stay in Paris included many concert performances and competition prizes such as the Selmer Trumpet Competition, the young soloist Trumpet competition, concerts and many chamber music festivals all over Europe as well as official performances for the Israeli Embassy in Paris and Israeli consulates around Europe.

Since his return to Israel, he has performed extensively as soloist, in chamber music concerts, orchestras and festivals all over the world. Musical education is close to his heart. He views it as calling and an obligation to train the next generation of musician in Israel. In addition to his performing schedule and composing projects, Tamir teaches trumpet and supervises an elementary school music education project in Raanana. As a composer, Tamir’s has been writing for seven years and performing his own works in the concert halls of Israel and Europe.
