Thomas Reiner

Thomas Reiner was born in Ludwigsburg in 1969. At the age of 12 he heard the French virtuoso Maurice André perform and resolved then and there to learn to play the trumpet. Two of his most influential teachers at the Universities of Music in Würzburg, Leipzig, and Weimar were professors Helmut Erb and Uwe Komischke. Thomas Reiner is presently active worldwide as a soloist and teacher at a university. He concertizes internationally in the combination trumpet and organ and he is highly in demand as a soloist with orchestras. Successful CD-Productions with the label “Naxos” and “Animato”.His brilliant and yet light tone in the high register predestines him for performances of J. S. Bach’s redoutable Second Brandenburg Concerto. Thomas Reiner loves to embellish his melodic lines with rich ornamentation, as was expected of a soloist in the Baroque repertoire. “Reiner plays with excellent facility and a clear, expressive tone quality. Thomas Reiner plays exclusively on Schilke trumpets.
