The B1 was the preferred Bb trumpet of Renold Schilke and the basis in design for the other B series instruments. Distinguished by its free and open feel, this trumpet is among our most popular models, allowing the player the diversity in sound color from a rich, full bodied dark sound to a brilliant ringing tone when desired.

The B5 model has slightly more resistance than the B1 with a more compact sound. This model provides flexibility in sound color with continuity in timbre in all registers and outstanding projection.

S Series B^b Trumpet

Retaining the same response and excellent intonation that is characteristic of the “B” and “X” series models, the "S" series play with a compact, focused, resonate center to the sound. Distinguished by the bell construction, bracing, and different mouth pipe and tuning slide design, the “S” series instruments emphasize the sound core and are ideal for both classical and commercial performance. All “S” series trumpet models share the same bell, which is referred to as a ML bell or a #2 bell. The bell has the same taper as the bell used on the B5 but utilize a yellow brass bell with a soldered bell bead. This feature helps with the sound focus and emphasizes the resonant core of the sound at the louder dynamic levels. The “S” series Main Tuning Slide has a semi-square shaped bow with a brace providing additional resistance and sound focus rather than the rounded “brace-less” slide on the “B” and “X” series models.

HD Series B^b Trumpet

The new HD series of trumpets were developed to offer a darker core of sound with superior articulation clarity. Completely new design elements include a square shaped tuning slide bow and a re-designed mouthpipe taper and receiver. In addition to these features, the construction and design of the HD bell creates a solid, secure feel with incredible tonal depth. These new models are recommended for classical as well as jazz/commercial players alike. HD trumpets are offered in silver plate, 24K gold plate, raw brass or lacquer finishes.
